I recently told you about my struggles in my twenties. As with most of life, though, the entire ten years were not bad.
One thing that was true for this decade was we lived with my in-laws quite a bit.
We have moved nine times to different locations (though four of these times were to the same town) since Nevaeh was born.
My in-laws have lived in the same house throughout this time. Needless-to-say, it is truly a place the girls can call home.
At one point while we were living in the area, my father-in-law ran a hobby farm. March of the year Veah was in kindergarten I got my DSLR camera and took pictures of everything.
Here are some of my favorites from around the farm:
This is one of my favorite pictures because I feel like this chick things s/he is the king/queen of the roost. All because they decided to stand on the water spout.
I learned during my time on the farm that chickens are smart animals. One time a rooster was running on top of the rabbit cage. There was a space between a set and he knew to jump and then keep on running. I was amazed!
My brother-in-law, who is seven years younger than my husband, purchased cows for FFA when he was in high school. They had two female cows and got one pregnant, and she had a male. Naturally, he became a steer.
It was several years after high school that they sold the cows.
This is our Daisy cooling off after playing with the animals and running around with us all day. She was a great dog, born right before Veah and died a couple of weeks ago. She will be missed!
This is probably the animal I miss the most (other than Daisy) from their farm because I could walk out and make a turkey noise and they’d respond. It cracked me up.
What do you like about country life? Let me know.
