My husband picked up a recipe from the biker and gun maker Jesse James called “Blacksmith’s Meatloaf”. Hubs makes a mean one. I attempted on Monday and while it tasted great it was a bit messy, so I invented the meatloaf sloppy joes.
It was just as good as the regular, hold itself together meatloaf, just mushy. Hubs ate it two days later on two waffles (ewwww) to make a waffle sandwich.
All in all this was a great dinner and I can’t wait to get done with school so I can make more of them!
- 1 lb. hamburger meat
- 1/2 cup oatmeal
- 1 tbsp. cayenne pepper
- 1 small onion, finely ground
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. Lowery's salt
- 1 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/2 cup spaghetti sauce
- 1 cup cheddar cheese
- ketchup for the top
- Mix it all together minus ketchup. Add ketchup to top.
- Bake it on 425 for 30 minutes. Let cool slightly and enjoy!
