I think I mentioned before that cars are a big part of our life.
So, it is only natural that living in Dallas and being a part of the car scene, we would end up at Gas Monkey Bar n Grill.
What is so surprising about this place is the food is upscale enough to compete with some of the other great food places in Dallas while staying true to the Gas Monkey style, with almost a biker bar feel to the restaurant. It’s loud and there is a bar, both inside and out.
And if you’re sitting outside on a hot day, they have misters. The misters work well enough to cook you down but not so well they ruin your food or drink. We sat out there in April and it was nice. I don’t know that I’d do it this time of year.
Our dinner was fabulous. We tend to stick to the normal. Here’s what we had:
Mango Salsa Chicken. Hubs picked this out for me and it was delicious. I loved the mango chutney!
Our appetizer was chips with multiple dips. I was the only one to eat the guacamole. He doesn’t care for it. Me? MMMMM-MMMM.
And, of course, brisket for the hubs.
We have also had their ribs, which Nevaeh will tell you is bone lickin’ good. Yes, bone lickin’.
