Currently my students are talking about developmental milestones of preschool aged children. To be honest, it might be the first time we have done any work this week. Part of it is not my fault, as I got pulled into a meeting earlier in the week and yesterday I chose to have a “free day”. Monday we were not at school.
So where have I been? Everywhere. I am getting my full certification to teach and have to take classes in pedagogy to prepare myself. I have completed six classes in the last four days! Still have eight more lessons to go… sigh. Two of the lessons are messing up because they are using a new platform.
I am also writing for money. Whoot, whoot! That has kind of gone on the way side too though. The main focus has been on those classes because I have to take a test and I want to get it done before I start grad school.
Why did I chose to go to grad school?! I am starting to second guess myself.
Plus I love, love, love my job but shoot, working at a small school is rough… you put in twice as much time. I have done a basketball game every week since school has got back in. Thankfully, after tonight I have one more game!!! That does not change a lot though because culinary competition team, FCCLA events, and prom are coming up quick. There is no slowing down, even in spring. People get all, “Oh, you get summers off, how nice”. Yes it is but no worries the sixty to eighty hour weeks I work during the school year more than make up for it!
Oh, and did I mention (here it comes….) we are looking to buy a house as soon as possible. We are working with a lender and once we have the loan processed we are going to own our home! It will be closer to the job that I love, love, love and it will be OURS!
With all the stuff going on I get tossed between two emotions, the first being completely and utterly exhausted, wondering if I am honestly putting one hundred percent into everything (obviously not, do you see how long it has been since I blogged?) and excited because this really is the time of my life. I have a fabulous job, beautiful kids (sorry, Veah, had to say it), I am about to be a home owner, and I get to share it all with you guys!
That, my friends, is exhaustively awesome!
