Got another throwback for you. This one was from way back in early 2011 when I was a freshman in college and Bre was still in Pre-K! Back when my mother had just introduced me to the wide world of Pinterest. I fell in love with it instantly, writing out the recipes because I thought I had time for that and all… Hahahaha. This dress is a classic, a great way to use old t-shirt, and a great way to learn how to sew something easy. Read on, my friends, read on!
One of the best things to hit the internet? Pinterest! I have found so many great tutorials. Foods and drink recipes to try, how to make those cool melted crayon pictures I saw my sisters making and so much more!
But the best thing I have found on pinterest? Hands down the t-shirt dress.
Got t-shirts that have shrunk, you know, they fit your child around but show their bellies when they lift their hands up? Or maybe there is that stubborn stain you just can’t get off? Well, let’s re purpose it.
Cut the area you want to keep. The top shirt needs to still have the sleeves and head piece. Likewise, on the bottom piece I recommend using the bottom of a shirt, this way you don’t have to sew the ends. The easier the better!.
Once you have the dress to a length you feel is appropriate with your child, begin to sew it together. You can do this by hand or with a machine. To give it the funky look, I recommend putting them together front facing each direction. This will cause it to frey and that’s okay!
When you finish up, please send me pictures of your darling little one. Thanks!
