I posted today on Facebook that it was the first day of October. This was a slight jab because everyone on my feed seemed to want to announce to the world that today is the beginning of the holiday season…
This only slightly describes my delight with how today ended up. What made it so great?
1. We went to a fun festival in a town we’ve never been to before (insert:travel).
2. We went to check out the car show and left with a new member of the family.
3. We also found a Stand Up Paddleboard that was a great price. This has been a bucket list item of mine. Maybe tomorrow?!
4. The girls are doing the dishes! Hubby and I are watching tiny house.
But what would this post be without ffffooooodddd?!
Last Thursday was National Coffee Day. To celebrate, we made a coffee ice cream cake. This post is step one.
Here’s what I did:
2 cups half and half
1 cup sugar
1 cup whole coffee beans
Warm up first three items. Whip egg. Add a little bit of the warmed milk mixture to temper (be sure to keep stirring). Add egg mixture to the rest of the ice cream base. Warm up slightly. Let cool.
Once cooled, pour into ice cream maker and follow maker’s direction.
Enjoy as is or come back Tomorrow for the cake recipe!!!
