Miss Nevaeh is going into the eighth grade. How this is possible, I don’t know.
Yet, she still has that sweet innocence about her.
Such as recently she asked me if I would start making her bento boxes again. I asked if it was because she wanted to show it off to her friends and she said, “No I just like them.”
Well, this momma is happily obliging this school year and here are some ideas I have found:
1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Kitchen Fun with My Three Sons came up with this cute TMNT idea. Little known fact: I was a huge TMNT fan as a kid- even had my sixth birthday party that was TMNT. This is a great way to relieve some fun memories and share them with my girls.
Nevaeh loves cats and I thought this one was cute, check it out at Love at First Bento. The bones make the bowl as well.
3. Big Hero Six
I like that Lunchbox Dad has an exact reason for each thing he put in there and explains everything to us. Plus, this is a pretty simple design which is super important when there is not much time in the morning. You know what takes it over-the-top though? It’s Disney related and we love Disney at home.
4. Homemade Pizza Lunchables
Going back to being simple and easy, this homemade Lunchable pizza is a great idea. You know what’s in it, your kids feel like they are doing stuff similar to their friends. It’s a win-win in my opinion. I can’t wait to make this using our homemade pizza crust. It’s delicious!
5. My Post (not yet up)
6. Rainbow Unicorn
How cute is this? I plan to order the cutter as soon as I get paid! I like the fact that this is also a super healthy lunch recipe and the colors make it so fun. I’m glad that Eats Amazing shared this post!
7. Hot Foods
Considering it’s 106 today, I don’t think it will ever get cold in Texas again. Yet, I know it will and when that day comes, this momma will have a thermos so her girls can have food to warm their bodies up at lunch. The best part is, it can be something similar to this chicken bowl and not always soup!
8. Holiday Specific Meals
I just love this idea and it reminds me of Thanksgiving when Veah was one and a half. She would only eat my muffins- nothing else. The part that reminds me of her though is the jelly inside the muffins because that’s the same way I made hers (which reminds me- I should write a post with that recipe).
If you are in awe of this be sure to check out Keeiey McGuire’s site.
9. Roast Beef Sandwiches
I like the to go container that is probably holding dip for the veggies and the fruit like bears is so cute. Plus the sandwich looks delicious. For this one, I would separate out the roast beef into the thermos and let Veah put it on with her lunch. Better yet- being a big fan of BBQ I might send BBQ with her!
Either way its a delicious looking lunch, thanks beneficial bento!
10. Star Wars Themed
Here’s what I love about this one– it took little effort. She molded the jello, cut out the Vader sandwich, made the wands (all of which could be done on the weekend). Then she simply added a star on the lima beans and used a star-shaped cupcake liner to add the blueberries.
There’s no need for this to be stressful- make it fun for them and for you!
